John Adams

John Adams is an interesting person to learn about.

To start off, John Adams was born in October 30, 1735 in Braintree Massachusetts. His parents were John Adams Sr, and his mother was Susanna Boylston. John Adams Sr was a little educated, but he was a farmer, militia, church deacon, tax collector, he had a lot of jobs. On the other hand, Susanna Boylston was very educated, but took care of the children that she had gave birth to. She gave birth to John Adams, Peter Boylston Adams, and Elihu Adams. His parents wanted him to get very educated, but John Adams sometimes sneaked out of school because of his teacher, the ones he did not like. He wanted to become a farmer at first, and he did it, wanted to do forever, but he wasn't allowed to. At first though, at Harvard University, he graduated and became teacher, but soon enough, he quit. At the age of 20, John Adams graduated from Harvard University after studying lawyer. He was one of the best students there. His father soon died because of influenza, and her mother died at an old age, at the age of 89. John Adams on October 25, 1764 married to a lady named Abigail Adams, and soon had their children. Abigail Adams gave birth to John Quincy Adams, Abigail Adams, Susanna Adams, Charles Adams, and Thomas Boylston Adams.

Very soon the ride of Paul Revere's and the Revolutionary War started. In the same year when the Revolutionary War started, John Adams advised him to be the commander of the Continental Army, he agreed, but during George's commanding term, some people say that he is really is a bad commander. When the colonists was losing the war, John Adams bravely went to France to ask for weapons, and Netherlands for money. When the Declaration of Independence was to be wrote by someone, it was John Adams who suggested Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence, and urged people to sign it when it was turned in on July 4th 1776. When the war ended he was the first one to sign the Treaty of Paris.

When Washington become president for two terms, John Adams was his Vice-President. When he was president his friend Thomas Jefferson became Vice-President. During his time of being president, he argued a lot, Thomas Jefferson became his Ex-friend, and John Adams didn't get elected to be president for the second term. In fact in his Ex-friend Thomas Jefferson, that became president. After that he then went home to stay with his wife, Abigail Adams. That was also when Thomas Jefferson became his friend again.

On July fourth, 1826 at the age of ninety, John Adams died, but before he died he said, "Thomas Jefferson still survives.", but he was really off, because Thomas Jefferson died at the age of 82 in Monticello five hours ago. So sad for the two presidents, who are also friends, to die on the day together, when it was on the American Day.

Some really interesting facts about John Adams. People have said that he is too stubborn and talks too much, but John Adams actually said that he was happy that he was this stubborn and easily angered. If the British had won the Revolutionary War, they would have hanged him first. He was also Christian that believed in Jesus. He was friends with Thomas Jefferson. John Adams was the only president out the first five that came from Massachusetts and owned no slaves, which on the other hand, George Washington owned hundreds of slaves. He died on the same day Thomas Jefferson died, but only five hours later, and had long saw his son become a president. He is the third-oldest living president in the American President History. He might be the second president, but he was the first president to live in the White House. His grandfather was one of the pilgrims that was in Plymouth. He hated his mother, but favored his father. During his lifetime he and Abigail wrote to each other, about 2,000 letters, but at the time John was at France, the letters they wrote to each other, mostly were lost, burned, over boarded, etc. During his turn of Vice Presidency, John Adams was teased a lot by the Press, same as George Washington, the President.
