2018 New Year's Eve at Long Beach

It was the last day of 2017, and we were at Long Beach, just after the sun disappeared behind the horizon.

Firework parking are.

It was around six when we got there, and in three more hours, the beautiful New Year Eve's fireworks would go off. There are two firework performances- 9 o' clock and 12 o' clock. The 9 o' clock performance is to celebrate the East Side of the Country (New York, Maryland, etc) since that at 9 PM Pacific Time it is 12 AM at Eastern Time, and the 12 o' clock is to celebrate when California hits 2018. The fireworks are two go off at the Rainbow Lighthouse, a bit far away from the show area, for safety. The Rainbow Lighthouse is named 'rainbow' lighthouse is that lights from the bottom or top of the house showcases colors of the rainbow, and the light spins around the light house, so people from anywhere would see the rainbow colors of the lighthouse.

Queen Mary.

The place was very tight, every restaurant have wait time of more than an hour, and all the dances are crowded, there is no room for an ant! We pushed our way through the crowds, and eventually went to the To-GO for Chili's. It took an hour to place an order and 45 minutes for it to be ready. Despite all that, we went again through the crowd and onto the Pine Avenue Pier. On the sides of the Pier, there were two old looking boats, like the ones that Pirates once used. There were many ghostly looking nets, many rotten poles, dark lurky thing inside the ship, a very salty smell from the ship, and on the outside there were a note about the boats. We then walked on to the end of the Pier where we saw a man using a very professional camera taking pictures of the sea, and the nearby Queen Mary. We just took some random pictures, especially at the Queen Mary, where strands of light had placed on her. We tried to take a good shot a boat that was just leaving the Pier, but in such low light, it was almost impossible.

set
Soon, we went back thinking about our order, and on our way we stopped to watch a performance where three ladies were playing with fire, and one even spit fire from her mouth! They danced very gracefully to the music, and there were many watching them performing the fantastic show, just before the fireworks. We watched to they finished and then we strolled to Chili's for pick-up. It took an hour to get our, but it was delicious. The meal was four mini hamburgers, although they were not many stuffing in the burger, there were some French Fries to accompany the burger. The meal did not for ten minutes, it was too good. We checked the time, it was almost 9PM, and many have already been gathering. We went to the end of the shoreline, next to the Pier, and at 9 the first fireworks came off.

More and more fireworks came off, and during the performance, they stereo played Fireworks by Katy Perry--which matched perfectly for the fireworks, except that Katy talked about Fourth of July, and not New Year's. The most beautiful part was the ending of the show, where four or five firework blasted right next to the LightHouse together. And show ended in less than 15 minutes. Cheers filled the area, and light came up again, as went to parking lot and drove home.
